The only girls player pathway into the FA Women's Championship in Kent

Welcome to the London City Lionesses Kent PDP

We are proud to be the official Kent Player Development Programme (PDP) for the London City Lionesses. Our club provides the only pathway in Kent to the FA Women’s Championship.

The club was established in 2020 as Kent Girls Elite FC (KGEFC) after previously being the Gillingham FC Girls Regional Talent Club (RTC). After Gillingham FC removed all funding in the women’s/girls game KGEFC was established and aimed to maintain the same level of player development in Kent as provided under the RTC model.

After one season as a stand-alone club, KGEFC agreed in March 2021 to join forces with the London City Lionesses to provide a pathway to the top for football playing girls in Kent.

We run four age groups starting at Under 12 progressing through Under 14, Under 16 and a new Under 18 team will be launched for the 2021/22 season. This provides a unique pathway in Kent for the best footballing girls to continue their development from youth football right the way through to the LCL Development and First Team.

Our coaching team is second to none and includes UEFA ‘A’ and UEFA ‘B’ standard coaches as well as specialist Strength and Conditioning and Goalkeeper coaching. Any player that is selected to play for the club is assured that they will receive the best quality of coaching and development in Kent.

“This is an important moment for London City Lionesses. This marks a huge opportunity for the club to grow and to offer a pathway into the professional game. We have been working hard to embed ourselves in the community from day one and this is a huge step. I hope that many of the young players in Kent will be able to look at our first team playing on a professional level and realise that that could be them one day.”
